the churchie national emerging art exhibition 2009
Emerging artists across Australian have until March 31 to submit their entries in the churchie national emerging art exhibition 2009 which offers $10,000 to the overall winner. Better known as ‘the churchie’ this leading Australian emerging art award has five categories: moving images; paintings; works on paper; photography; and sculpture. Artists can enter up to three works created in the 12 months before the opening date (1 December 2008). Entries are submitted via the website: www.churchieemergingart.com
Over the last 22 years, ‘the churchie’ has established a fine reputation based on the quality and diversity of its contemporary art. Last year ‘the churchie’ attracted 780 entries from almost 400 artists from across Australia and highlighted the intersection between digital and traditional media.
The $10,000 non-acquisitive winner’s prize for the churchie national emerging art exhibition 2009 is donated by Brand & Slater Architects. Key dates for ‘the churchie’ 2009:
